Bee Honey Supplies to Cuban Industry Guaranteed
Monday, December 9, 2019

Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Camagüey is expected to produce 700 tons of bee honey in 2019, a volume that is higher than last year's output.

According to experts, Camagüey has 16,084 beehives in exploitation, which are currently served by 210 beekeepers.

In addition, at the end of October, the province had produced 5.6 tons of wax and 8.3 tons of propolis, which are byproducts that are highly demanded in the local market.

Added to this, 13,527 queen bees were reproduced thanks to the operation of several specialized centers, so more beehives are producing royal jelly.

This year, beekeeping has benefited from good weather conditions, which have shown some stability throughout the year.
