Russian Truck Manufacturer Creates Technical Facilities in Cuba
Monday, December 2, 2019

Havana.- The Russian truck manufacturer Kamaz is creating technical facilities in Cuba with a view to guaranteeing the operation of those vehicles.

According to the company, a maintenance center will be established in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM, in Spanish), in western Cuba.

The plant will be equipped with the most modern technology, and will have a warehouse with all the necessary spare parts to guarantee the maintenance of the trucks.

The construction of the center was in charge of the company Autocentro ZED S.A. and it will also have several educational classrooms.

It is estimated that there are some 8,500 Kamaz trucks in Cuba, so the new center, in which local personnel will work, will guarantee their maintenance throughout the country.

Kamaz's most important contract in Cuba in recent years was the supply of some 2,000 trucks between 2016 and 2018 and the commitment to establishing the center.
