Cuban Experts Work on New Cocoa-Processing Technologies |

Havana.- Experts in Baracoa municipality, in eastern Cuba, are working on the implementation of new technologies to process cocoa.
According to specialists, the industry in progress represents an investment of eight million dollars and an annual demand for some 4,000 tons of cocoa, thus the importance of raising the yield of crops to avoid imports of the raw materials required for the activity.
This year's harvest plan is 1,100 tons and has already overfulfilled at 144 percent, with 1,362 tons, while the crop area has been enlarged.
The plan is to produce 5,000 tons of cocoa by 2030, breaking Cuba's record of 2,400 tons of that produce.
