Havana.- The Cuban pharmaceutical industry has made major contributions to the people's healthcare and the world, backed by first-line discoveries.
Among the elements to highlight is the development of the CIMAvax-EGF vaccine against lung cancer, which prevents the growth of malignant cells in patients in advanced stages of the disease.
In addition, Heberprot-P, which cures diabetic foot ulcers and slows the remission of lesions, while minimizing the risk of amputation.
Together with this, there is VA-MENGOC-BC, a vaccine against Meningococci B and C, which are bacteria that can cause serious fatal infections such as meningococcemia and meningitis.
Melagenin Plus, which cures vitiligo, a skin disease that affects one percent of the world's population, and Polycosanol, a natural product to lower cholesterol are also produced.
