Good Management at Cuban Economic Zone

Havana.- The Mariel Special Development Zone (ZED), in western Cuba, shows an increase in established business figures and investments.

According to official data, there are 49 established businesses with investments that exceed 2.2 billion dollars, representing 21 countries.

This way, the plants owned by Devox Caribe, S.A., Profood Service, S.A., Richmeat de Cuba S.A. and Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation, have already started up operations.

In the coming months, the Cimex Mariel S.A. tower, the disposable diaper plant of Industria Arthis and the metal paints factory of the TOT Color Group are scheduled to begin to operate.

ViMariel S.A., a concessionaire of the ZED, began the construction of an industrial park of about 156 hectares and it already has its first user, the Portuguese company Ecoplast S.A.
