Havana.- Cuba's healthcare system has more than 3,000 specialists in internal medicine, who provide services at all three healthcare levels.
According to experts, the clinic is the center of medical thinking, and the clinical method is the foundation of comprehensive care for patients with several ailments.
Therefore, in Cuba, the importance of using procedures such as patient interviews, detailed physical examinations and decision-making based on the risk approach is highlighted.
Several of these issues are included in the agenda of the 12th Congress on Internal Medicine (MEDINTER 2019), which will address the integration of clinics into major technological breakthroughs, prevention and health promotion.
MEDINTER takes place every four years, as a summary of the scientific activity and the development of internal medicine in Cuba, as well as a starting point to promote this field of medical sciences.
