Prioritized Care in Cuba for the Elderly |

Havana.- The healthcare system of the eastern Cuban province of Camagüey prioritizes the care of the elderly, taking into account the population aging.
As an example, the experts mentioned the Amalia Simoni Elderly Club, where some 50 senior citizens receive day and specialized care.
For this, the center's multidisciplinary team consists of stomatologists, podiatrists, physiotherapists and rehabilitators, family doctors and nurses.
The institution guarantees the care of the elderly and in order to improve their quality of life, they do physical exercises, play board games and visit cultural and social institutions on the territory.
Together with this, the center receives senior citizens without family protection with a view to guaranteeing their rehabilitation with a non-permanent integral care.
