Havana.- Cuba will compete in the ninth phase of the North, Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) beach volleyball circuit.
At the event, to be held in Hato Mayor, in the Dominican Republic, Cuba will be represented by Yanileydis Sanchez and Lidiannys Echevarria, the runners-up at the previous stage in the women's category.
On that occasion, the Cuban players were only preceded by three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings and her current partner, Brooke Sweat.
For this phase, the presence of men's and women's teams from Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Martinique, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, US Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic was confirmed.
In addition to the Cuban team, organizers highlighted the participation of Falyn Fonoimoana and Corine Quiggle, from the United States. The former won the bronze medal in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and in the Cayman Islands in April, during the opening of the circuit.
