Enrollment in Medical Sciences Grows in Cuba |

Havana.- The enrollment in medical sciences specialties in Cuba reached 110,884 students, some 9,000 more than in the previous academic year.
According to officials from the healthcare sector, of that total, the enrollment in university studies exceeds 87,000 and in Medicine there are nearly 62,000 students.
In addition, for the training of specialists in postgraduate courses, there are 27,189 professionals in the residency regime, including more than 24,000 Cubans and 2,000 from 65 countries.
For the teaching work, a faculty of almost 35,000 professors is available, together with the preparation that is offered in a practical way in medical centers.
The sector's universities are developing 65 specialty programs this year, as well as 75 Master's and several Doctoral programs.
