Lobster Captures Increase in Western Cuba
Monday, September 9, 2019

Havana.- La Coloma fishing complex, in the western Cuban province of Pinar del Rio, has increased lobster captures to meet the market demand.

The company designed a plan of 2,152 tons of that species and to date it accumulates 930 tons of lobsters.

This volume was achieved despite the low manifestation of the species and the operation of only 43 vessels.

However, seven collection centers in the South and North zones are active, with the optimal conditions for fishermen to stay and to preserve the crustacean's quality.

More than 10 items are also delivered to the market, including fillet and derivatives from tuna, lobster sauces and juices, medallions, hamburgers and croquettes.
