Cuban Baseball Player Despaigne Excel in Japanese League
Monday, September 9, 2019

Havana.- Cuban player Alfredo Despaigne, from the Softbank Hawks in the Japanese baseball league, reached 150 home runs in six years of activity.

In his most recent outing, he hit two homeruns against the Rakuten Eagles in the 66th victory of the SoftBank Hawks, a franchise looking for its third straight championship.

Despaigne is only three homeruns to match his 35 in the previous campaign, when he led the league with 103 runs.

Now he is in the second place in the ranking of homeruns this season, with eight fewer than the leader, Hotaka Yamakawa, from the Seibu club.

In his record, he has 257 homeruns in 13 Cuban national series and 13 homers in two seasons with Piratas de Campeche, in the Mexican league.

In addition, he has 54 homeruns with the Marines of Chiba Lotte in three seasons and 96 with the SoftBank Hawks in another three seasons.
