Cuban Athletes Excel in Para-Pan American Games in Lima

Havana.- Cuban athletes gave outstanding performances in the 6th Para-Pan American Games in Lima (Peru), where 46 athletes contributed 39 medals (13 gold, 10 silver and 16 bronze).

According to the analysis of the event, at least 33 Cuban athletes won medals at least once, accounting for 71.7 percent.

It is worth highlighting the work of Cuban sprinter Omara Durand in the T12 100, 200 and 400 meter races (deep visual weakness), with three gold medals.

Also, swimmer Lorenzo Perez won the gold medal in the 400-meter S6 freestyle contest and the silver medal in the 50 and 100 meters, despite arriving in a non-optimal condition as he was convalescing from dengue fever.

Yenigladys Suarez won the title and the bronze medal in shooting, in air gun at 10 meters and 25 meters in the SH1 category.
