Havana.- The dancers from the company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) won eight Diamond Awards and other prizes at the 2019 International Active Dance Competition in Panama.
According to specialists, the performance was unique, as it is the first time that a school places all of its pieces in competition with the highest number of award.
In that regard, they recalled that in this type of event, the Diamond category is at a higher level than the gold medal.
Company Director Lizt Alfonso and her team received the International Spotlight Award for Arts and Humanities, granted in the United States by the White House, in 2016.
She was also recognized as a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), among other awards for her creative work.
