Cuban Rowers to Compete in World Championship in Austria

Havana.- Cuba will participate in the Ottensheim World Rowing Championship (Austria) with a delegation of seven competitors.

The Cuban delegation includes Angel Fournier, multi-medalist in world cups and championships, and sixth Olympic place in Rio de Janeiro-2016 in the single category.

Previously, the Cuban rowers will participate in a training base in Italy until August 23, when they will travel to the venue of the event.

The delegation is completed with Carlos Ajete and Jesus Rodriguez in double category without a coxswain, and the pairs of Boris Guerra-Adrian Oquendo and Aimee Hernandez-Yariulvis Cobas, in the men's and women's double, open weight, respectively.

Fournier and the Hernandez-Cobas pair won gold medals at the recently held Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, while Guerra and Oquendo won the silver medal.
