Cuban-Portuguese Film Premiered in Havana |

Havana.- This month, the Cuban capital hosted the world premiere of the movie Nuestro Consul en La Habana (Our Consul in Havana), a Cuban-Portuguese coproduction.
The film, according to specialists, will contribute to publicizing the presence of the writer and diplomat Jose Maria Eça de Queiroz in Havana.
The premiere of the film took place in the framework of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Queiroz was born in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal, on November 25, 1845, and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on August 16, 1900. He wrote the novels Father Amaro's Crime and Los Maias.
The film focuses on the period when Eça de Queiroz was Portugal's consul in Cuba during the Spanish colonial era, and worked in defense of Chinese people from Macao.
