New Joint Venture in Cuba's Food Industry

Havana.- Cuba's food industry added to its structures the joint venture Proxcor, which will produce cereals and jams.

The firm involves Corporacion Alimentaria S.A (Coralsa), from Cuba, and the Slovak group Proxenta.

A total investment of nearly 40 million dollars will be made, with a view to producing some 12,000 tons of jams and cereals.

The products will be marketed under the Guani and Toco brands, and consist of several assortments, among which are regular and cremated sweet cookies, candies and lollypops.

Proxcor is the ninth joint venture of Corporacion Alimentaria S.A. (Coralsa), which also has Bucanero S.A., Coracan, Los Portales S.A., Coralac S.A., IMSA, Stella Producciones and Papas & Co.
