Cuba Works to Preserve Its Heritage
Monday, July 8, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban capital has a Decontamination Center for Patrimonial Documents, aimed at preserving the country's historical wealth.

The institution, located in the University College of San Geronimo, is the largest of its kind in the country.

The first actions are aimed at processing documents from the Office of the City Historian, but services will be provided to libraries and archives throughout country.

Together with this, negatives in plastic and glass support from the Ministry of Construction, which has their original custody, are also treated.

Hundreds of meters make up the Decontamination Center that is in charge of preserving and digitalizing documents, photographs, and audio and video tapes.
