Cuban Authorities Take Measures for Buildings in Tourist Areas
Monday, August 6, 2018

Havana.- Cuban authorities have taken measures to control the construction and rehabilitation of buildings in tourist areas throughout the country.

According to experts, these actions aim to protect the heritage in those areas, which have been declared of high significance for the so-called leisure industry.

These zones are protected due to their natural, cultural or historic characteristics and constitute a resource of great importance for the country, whose fundamental economic activity consists of tourism development.

The regulations cover the authorization procedures for swaps, donations, purchases and construction actions in homes located in those areas.

The list of measures includes the documentation to be submitted by the parties and the deadlines by which public administration bodies must respond to each request.
