Montevideo.- The Uruguayan coastal resort of Punta del Este, one of the main tourist destinations in the country, might hold a new theme park.
Experts think the investment would amount to 100 million dollars to build the largest and most modern such facility in Latin America.
The Punta del Este Theme Park would contribute to breaking the seasonal nature of the region, characterized by high peaks during the summer season and an acute decrease in tourist arrivals in winter.
The center would have an amusement park, zoo, aquatic park, concert and congress halls, restaurants, rural exhibition halls, a sports complex, hotels and an inn.
Spanish investors are assessing the options to execute the works.
