Cuban-Made Medical Equipment Installed in Argentina
Monday, December 20, 2010

Buenos Aires.- The Cuban-made medical equipment Estereoflex, which is used to treat patients suffering from Parkinson's disease, has been successfully installed in Argentina, where experts from the two countries are working on the transference of technology.

The Estereoflex equipment is the result of a joint project kicked off in 1995 by the International Neurological Restoration Center (CIREN) and the company Tecnosuma, which is attached to the Immuno-Essay Center (CIE).

In that regard, CIREN developed the software used in minimal-access brain surgeries to guarantee a computerized surgical procedure.

For its part, Tecnosuma created the precision mechanic system that allows surgeons to use advanced microsurgical and endoscopic procedures.
