Latin American Film Festival in Cuba

Havana.- The 31st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, to be held in Havana, will screen a wide range of motion pictures and documentaries from the region.

Brazil, Argentina and Mexico are among the most represented countries at the festival. Brazil will present 23 films, while Argentina and Mexico will participate with 21 movies each.

According to organizers, 105 films will compete for the Coral awards in five categories.

A score of movie theaters will screen 21 fiction feature-length motion pictures, 21 first works, 15 short films, 24 documentaries and 24 cartoons.

Films from Chile and Cuba (nine each), Peru (seven), and Colombia, Uruguay and Venezuela (four each) will participate in the contest.

Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Bolivia, South Africa, Canada, Great Britain and Spain will also take part in the competition with 28 unfilmmed scripts and 17 posters.
