Havana.- The Cuban men's handball team finished 20th at the World Championship.
The Caribbean island's team lost seven games and won two, losing the final game to Algeria 24-37.
Latin America's best-placed team was Argentina, which finished 18th, while Brazil defeated Kuwait and finished 21st in the tournament.
South Korea, Macedonia, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Serbia, Hungary and Germany will compete for the 5th to 12th places.
Denmark, France, Croatia and Holland will finish among the top four teams in the World Championship.
