Cuban Cinema in Mexico

Mexico.- Mexico City will host an exhibition of Cuban films under the auspices of the Autonomous University of Mexico, the organizing committee for the Benito Juárez International Award and the Cuban Embassy,

The exhibition will close on November 21 and will be held at the Principal Auditorium, attached to the University of San Lorenzo, in Colonia del Valle.

The program includes such motion pictures as "Viva Cuba", directed by Juan Carlos Cremata, the anthological "Memorias del Subdesarrollo" (Memories of Underdevelopment) by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, and "Elpidio Valdés", by Juan Padrón.

Joaquín Guzmán's "Cuba, Una Esperanza que no Debe Morir" (Cuba, A Hope that Must not Die), a documentary on the economic crisis – known as special period – that affected Cuba in the early 1990s, will also be exhibited.

The list of Cuban films also includes "Suite Havana", "Hello Hemingway", "Viviendo al Limite", "Barrio Cuba" and "Páginas del Diario de Mauricio", among others.
