Villa Covarrubias: A Spot for Leisure

Eastern Las Tunas province, rich in natural attractions, traditions, culture and history, also boasts excellent beaches and sites of breathtaking beauty that support the development of tourism in the region.

One of those sites is Covarrubias beach, where the tourist villa of the same name is located, in an environment where leisure is winning adepts among hundreds of foreign vacationers visiting that place every year.

The four-star villa run by the Gran Caribe group has 180 comfortable rooms - including 121 double, 32 triple and 14 matrimonial rooms - with all modern amenities necessary for having a good time.

The rooms, distributed in a group of buildings integrated into the natural environment, are equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, safety box and telephone.

The area where the villa was built also favors leisure, since it is characterized by exuberant vegetation and strips of sand ready to welcome vacationers to enjoy a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters.

The site boasts the attraction of a six-kilometer-long coral reef that is 1.5 kilometers off the coast, thus providing a major complement for divers.

At the end of the resort is Laguna Real (Royal Lagoon), which has pink shallow waters due to the pigmentation of microorganisms living in it, and is a food source for many families of birds, including gannets and pink flamingoes, among others.

In addition to nature, Villa Covarrubias provides its guests with a one-of-a-kind gastronomic offer at Las Caletas Lobby-bar, Cobobar Snack Acua-bar and El Dorado Smorgasbord.

At night, the Solarena Discotheque - in the middle of the sea and accessed by boat - is the gathering spot for vacationers, who can also enjoy other recreational facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium, beach volleyball courts, tennis courts and billiards.

In addition, a thatched-roof restaurant by the beach serves excellent dishes to swimmers who do not want to stop enjoying nature, and other services such as massage, mud therapy and acupuncture are provided by experts in those fields.

Vacationers staying at the villa can visit the city of Puerto Padre, one of the province's oldest towns whose first inhabitants settled down in 1869, and whose surroundings witnessed major battles during Cuba's war of independence against the Spanish Crown.

For all these, Covarrubias, in an area with excellent beaches, is the first option for leisure in a region that has gained ground in the dynamic expansion of Cuba's leisure industry over the past few years.
