Havana.- The Cuban cultural panorama will benefit from an increase in musical programs in 2002, including more concerts and the promotion of new talents.

Officials from the Cuban Institute of Music pointed out that all international events scheduled for next year will be held, and new offers will be incorporated.

Among those events are the International Festival of Electroacoustic Music "Spring in Havana", Havana's Choral Meeting and the 20th International Guitar Contest and Festival, which will be dedicated to its founder, Leo Brouwer.

The 2002 program also includes the Matamoroson and Pepe Sánchez festivals, both in Santiago de Cuba, the Cubadisco Fair, and the Jazz Plaza Festival, hosted by Chucho Valdés.

Audio conditions have been improved in throughout the country, with an eye to holding concerts of classical music, which will be directed by Jorge Luis Prats.
