Musical Rhythm Sucu Suco in Isla de la Juventud |

Havana.- Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth), situated south of Havana, is hosting the 3rd National Festival on the musical rhythm Sucu Suco this month.
Sucu Suco, which became very popular in the 1950's, has recovered its popularity in Cuba's musical spectrum since the first of such festivals was held in 2000.
On this occasion, the festival will celebrate 60 years of professional life of Mongo Rives, one of Cuba's most outstanding Sucu Suco musicians, who will release his first CD, entitled "Esto es Sucu Suco" (This is Sucu Suco).
Thirteen authors presented their songs at the Sucu Suco Contest, 10 of which were chosen as finalists and were orchestrated by Camilo Amador, the director of Clásicos Pineros, the group that will accompany the singers on stage.
The jury is made up of renowned experts in Cuban traditional music.
