Growing Presence of Companies in Mariel Zone |

Havana.- The Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM), in western Cuba, completed its 50th business with the approval of Italian capital company.
The firm will set up production facilities with a view to elaborating dairy products such as yogurt, ice creams and mozzarella cheese for the domestic market and for export.
For this project, the integration with various sectors of the Cuban economy was taken into account, involving agriculture, industry and tourism.
Under the name of Lacteos Mariel S.A., the company will cover an important part of the national demand for dairy products in a first phase.
The ZEDM already hosts three Italian companies, including Vidrios Mariel and Industrias Arthis (disposable diapers), which are still in the investment process.
