Cuban Outstanding Musician Wins Latin Grammy Award |

Havana.- Cuban pianist Jesus Chucho Valdes was granted the Latin Grammy Award in the category of Best Jazz Album, for his CD Jazz Bata Dos.
The other nominees in that section were Turning Pages, by Claudia Acuña; Elemental, by Otmaro Ruiz, Jimmy Haslip and Jimmy Branly; Dos Orientales, by Hugo Fattoruso and Tomohiro Yahiro; and Rio-Sao Paulo, by Andre Marques.
Valdes has already won four Latin Grammy Awards, in addition to six Grammy Awards.
During the ceremony, the main winners were Alejandro Sanz (Spain), Andres Calamaro (Argentina), Kany Garcia (Puerto Rico) and Tony Succar (Peruvian-American), who won two awards each.
Valdes has received another award this year. In 2018, he was recognized with the award for Musical Excellence by the Latin Recording Academy.
