Cuban Cities Declared Creative Sites by UNESCO

Havana.- The Cuban cities of Havana and Trinidad were declared as Creative Cities by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO).

It is an international recognition granted by that United Nations agency to those cities that identify creativity as a strategic factor in sustainable urban development.

The nominees in this category do so in the creative fields of crafts and folk arts, digital arts, cinema, design, gastronomy, literature and music.

On this occasion Havana was declared a "Creative City of Music" and Trinidad was designated a "Creative City of Crafts and Popular Arts".

The international network is currently made up of 246 cities in the world that have this condition in the seven creative fields.
