Cuban Experts Diagnose and Treat Lymphoma
Monday, September 23, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system has made progress in recent years in diagnosing and treating lymphoma, with a better survival rate.

In that regard, the specialists mentioned the use of new drugs, including Rituximab, Obinutuzumab, and Polatozumab Vedotin (a monoclonal antibody).

Together with this, clinical trials using new biomolecules have been carried out in several healthcare centers to treat the disease.

These actions have been carried out by BioCubaFarma and the National Center for Clinical Trials (CENCEC) and the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices.

In Cuba, approximately more than 1,100 patients with lymphoma are diagnosed every year, being more frequent in men than in women, with an approximate mortality of 3 percent a year.
