Cuban Distillery Produces Fine Alcohols |

Havana.- The ALFICSA S.A. distillery, in the central province of Cienfuegos, completed the first production of fine alcohols after completing the commissioning phase.
The plant, which underwent a process of technological renewal, is operated by a joint venture with capital from the Azcuba Group and a Spanish firm.
Company executives indicated that the plant can process 1,000 hectoliters of fine alcohols a day, which is highly demanded by the food industry.
The fundamental raw material is sugarcane honey, and its wastes are used to produce torula, an animal feed, and gas for drinks and soft drinks.
As part of the commercialization, operations have been completed with Havana Club Internacional, as well as with the perfume company Suchel Camacho.
