Havana.- The Muthu Hoteles chain will expand its presence in the Cuban market, where it will open new facilities in the capital in the next two years.
The plans include the renovation of the Plaza Hotel in Old Havana, an establishment with more than 100 years. In 2021, the group will manage another hotel in the Miramar neighborhood with some 500 rooms.
It is worth mentioning that the chain already runs four hotels in Cuba, three of them together with the Gaviota group and one with Gran Caribe.
Founded in 1963, the MGM Muthu Hoteles chain arrived in the Americas in 2017 and it currently has a portfolio with more than 50 hotels worldwide.
The Cuban tourism sector promotes the inclusion in its operations of international companies, which contribute their experience and knowledge of certain market segments.
