Cuban Cyclist Wins Tour of Tuscany

Havana.- Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra, a member of the professional cycling club Astana Women's Team, won the 24th edition of the Tour of Tuscany.

Sierra won the first stage of the contest, in addition to finishing second in the third and final stages of the traditional competition, where she was fourth in 2018.

In the 252 kilometers of the route, the Cuban cyclist averaged 40,321 km/h in the general qualification and was escorted by Italian cyclist Soraya Paladin 12 seconds behind and Chursina 14 seconds behind.

Together with Sierra, her compatriot Heidy Praderas, Ukraine's Olga Shekel, Colombia's Liliana Moreno and Kazakhstan's Faina Potapova and Svetlana Pachshenko also competed for the Astana Women's Team.

The event brought together cyclists from 24 clubs, together with the national teams of Russia, South Africa, Israel and Ukraine.
