New Method to Study Minerals in Cuba |

Havana.- Cuban experts have designed a new method for the evaluation of lateritic mineral deposits in the eastern part of the country.
The procedure was prepared by researchers from the Institute of Science and Technology of Materials, attached to the University of Havana, with a process called multi-energy calibration.
In their tests, they used the laser excitation spectroscopy technique, which in practice reduces environmental damage.
Seven specialized publications and dozens of papers at national and international events support the work in question, which allowed examining other important metals in the nickel samples.
In that regard, it should be mentioned that nickel is one of Cuba's major exports.
