Cuban Drug PPG to Be Produced in Japan
Monday, August 19, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban drug Policosanol (PPG), which has a natural origin, will be manufactured in Japan using raw materials from the Caribbean island.

The drug is used to treat ischemic cerebrovascular diseases and as of September, it can be acquired on the Internet.

The medicine, which is made from cane wax, lowers bad cholesterol and has antioxidant effects.

In addition, it improves the quality of life of elderly people, a stage in life in which chronic non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes appear.

PPG, which was developed by the National Center for Scientific Research, does not interfere with other medications, nor does it have adverse reactions; therefore, it is a good choice for senior citizens who can take it as a treatment and to prevent diseases.
