Chinese Cinema in Havana
Monday, August 19, 2019

Havana.- Havana's movie theaters are hosting a large program of Chinese films this month, as part of the first film festival from that Asian country in Cuba.

The program includes the motion picture Beijing Family, a 2014 comedy about a traditional Chinese family and its relationship with a young Colombian woman who will revolutionize everyone's life at home.

Another film is I Belong to You, a very blockbuster feature film in Asia, because it refers to the hopes in love by three types of young people.

The program of the festival is completed by Go Away, Mr. Tumor, by Han Yang; The Bright Girl, by Wan Ran; and The Monkey King: the Return of the Hero.

China produces more than 1,000 films a year and for this first festival, the Film Association of China brought motion pictures dealing about issues related to youths and modern topics that reflect the traditional culture.
