Expansion of Cruise Tourism Expected in Uruguay |

Montevideo.- The 2019-2020 cruise season is favorable for Uruguay, with predictions of an increase of 35 percent in ship arrivals.
According to forecasts, Montevideo will receive some 140 ships, in contrast to 89 visits last season.
In addition, another 60 arrivals are expected in Punta del Este, as part of the reactivation of the activity.
In the balance sheet for the 2018/2019 season, there was an increase of 5.7 percent in tourist arrivals and an increase of 4.3 percent in ship arrivals.
Montevideo and Punta del Este received 146 cruise ships, from which 256,225 passengers disembarked, with a total expenditure of 9,556,485 dollars.
