School Sports in Cuban Summer |

Havana.- Sports facilities in ten Cuban provinces will host the competitions of the 55th National School Games.
The event, first held in August 1963, brings together more than 4,900 athletes on this occasion, together with 1,100 athletes from the youth category.
The organizing committee pointed out competitions will be held in 31 and 11 sports in each category, respectively.
The officials also reported that there will be 583 contests (307 for men, 265 for women and 11 mixed competitions) among school children, and 193 (111-82-0) for youths.
Additionally, visits to historic sites, meetings with Glories of Sport, training seminars for coaches and other actions are planned.
These events are considered the quarry of Cuban sport, allowing to experts to appreciate talents in several sports convened by the organizers.
