Cuban Athletes Stands Out in European Contest

Havana.- Cuban athletes won three titles at the Poznan Grand Prix (Poland), in which they competed as part of their training for the Pan-American Games in Lima (Peru).

Rose Mary Almanza won the 800-meter race with 2:01.77 minutes, although her best record of the year is 1:59.04 minutes.

Meanwhile, the discus thrower Yaime Perez was first on this occasion with 65.52 meters, ahead of her teammate Denia Caballero with 64.53 meters.

However, Caballero has the best record of the season with 69.20 meters.

In addition, Roxana Gomez won the gold medal in the 400-meter race with 52.24 seconds, leaving Barbados's Sada Williams (53.02) in the second place and Zurian Hechevarria, from Cuba, in the third position.
