Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system has proctokinasa in its arsenal, a drug used to treat hemorrhoidal crises.
Created by the Havana-based Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center (CIGB), the drug benefits patients who suffer from complications and is available in hospitals.
The new drug is safe and effective for the treatment of hemorrhoids, a very frequent disease in Cuba, with very favorable response rates.
Treatment with proctokinase allows the improvement or disappearance, in a short period of time, of the main signs and symptoms that accompany the acute hemorrhoidal episode.
The CIGB is recognized worldwide due to its important results with the Heberprot-P, a new drug to treat patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcer.
