Improved Healthcare Infrastructure in Cuba
Monday, May 20, 2019

Havana.- The healthcare sector of the eastern Cuban province of Holguin is taking steps to improve the medical infrastructure in the territory.

In 2019, some 14 million pesos will be allocated, with emphasis on maintenance, remodeling and rehabilitation of medical centers.

During the first four months of this year, actions benefited 100 institutions.

This year's plan will include 11 polyclinics, 11 elderly homes, four nursing homes, three dental clinics and a rehabilitation room.

In addition, three hygiene facilities and the premises of the provincial electromedicine center will be remodeled.

Most of the work focuses on the provincial capital, including the structural areas of the Lenin, Lucia Iñiguez Landin and Octavio de la Concepcion hospitals.
