Positive Results for Tourism in Western Cuba |

Havana.- Pinar del Río, Cuba's westernmost province, has reported positive results from January to date in the tourism sector.
According to statistics, 212,000 holidaymakers visited the territory, accounting for a growth of 6 percent compared to the same period last year.
The main tourist-sending markets were Germany, France, the Netherlands and Italy.
Local tourism authorities are working on the recovery of the circuit modality in order to increase visits, as well as prioritizing image changes, with capital repairs in several facilities.
Pinar del Río has about 700 rooms, distributed in hotels in Viñales, Cayo Levisa, Pinar del Rio and San Diego de los Baños, and three international camping villas.
One of the essential elements is nature tourism with four dozen options, including trails, hikes and the optional excursions to Gran Caverna de Santo Tomas.
