Cuba to Commemorate World Race Day |

Havana.- The Cuban capital was chosen to make the list of cities that will host the 24-1 Run initiative, aimed at encouraging the practice of jogging.
According to specialists, in order to make this decision, officials took into account the celebration of that day in 2018, when children, youths, sports glory and athletics fans ran one mile with the finish line at Havana's Ciudad Deportiva (Sports City) Coliseum.
The IAAF (International Federation) said that the idea is to have a full week of activities around the World Race Day, which will begin on June 1 and will end on June 7.
The Chinese city of Lanzhou will be the initiator of the races, as a preamble to the 24 races that will take place taking into consideration the different time zones.
The idea, said the Federation, is to share the joy and health benefits of running, the most popular activity in the world with almost one billion people who practice jogging on a regular basis.
