Havana.- Tokyo hosted the presentation of Cuba's tourist attractions for the Japanese market.
The promotional activities were held jointly with the Japan Association of Travel Agencies (JATA) and they brought together representatives of some 30 travel agencies, tour operators and airlines.
Participants were updated about new projects and prospects for the development of the tourism sector in Cuba, which this year is expected to receive five million holidaymakers.
The event allowed ratifying the values of Cuba as a tourist destination, which, in addition to natural beauties, it boasts a historic and cultural wealth that stands out in the region.
According to official statistics, over the past three years, the number of Japanese travelers to Cuba has tripled, exceeding 20,000 vacationers.
