Fishing Prioritized in Western Cuba

Havana.- Fishing has gain ground in the western Cuban province of Pinar del Rio, which is in charge of 50 percent of the sector's production.

La Coloma, the main company of the territory, is due to deliver 2,150 tons of lobster this year, 954 tons of scale species and 800 tons of tuna.

The industry is ready to capture lobsters and other processes to obtain several products and derivatives.

Raw, fresh, blanch, live, precooked whole lobster and mass are some of the ways the crustacean is commercialization abroad, in particular, in Europe and Asia.

The firm also evaluates the possible commercialization of crabs in halves and alive in the Caribbean region, with options among Asian consumers.
