A Space for Folklore in Olorum Festival |

Havana.- Two dozen folkloric companies gathered at the 9th edition of the Olorum-2019 specialized festival in the province of Camagüey.
The biennial event aims to promote popular traditions through the various expressions of music and dance.
On this occasion, Olorum was dedicated to the 45 years of artistic career of Maestro Reinaldo Echemendia, and to Nigeria and its rich Yoruba culture.
The theoretical program was held at the Santa Cecilia Convention Center, with two dozen presentations on the challenges and ways of preserving traditional popular culture.
The aim of the festival is to promote the musical and dance-folk art and to have a space for reflection, analysis and theoretical exchanges.
