Havana.- Ozone therapy has gained ground in the Cuban healthcare system, with applications in cases of patients suffering from ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
According to a study carried out in the eastern province of Ciego de Avila, the procedure was used in 250 patients, and results included improvements both from a subjective and functional point of view.
Likewise, the research shows that sequels and disabilities in the affected patients decrease, thus contributing to improving their quality of life.
Ozone therapy is very safe for the patient and has produced very encouraging results, with minimal adverse effects.
This therapeutic modality is also used to treat other neurological diseases such as Parkinson's, epilepsy, osteomyoarticular affections, osteoarthritis and arthritis.
