Cell Therapy in Cuban Healthcare System |

Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system promotes several procedures of regenerative cell therapy, in order to take advantage of the benefits of this method.
According to experts, Cuba has been using this technique for almost 15 years and by the end of 2018, the platelet compounds administered for regenerative purposes were 21,305.
Cell therapy is usually used in specialties such as orthopedics and traumatology, dermatology, urology, stomatology and maxillofacial surgery.
In addition, it extends to ophthalmology, proctology, sports medicine and in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pulmonary emphysema.
Platelet-rich plasma was also administered subcutaneously in the affected area to patients suffering from androgenic alopecia to seek hair regrowth.
Coupled with this, the injection of platelets in the gums also favored a favorable evolution in more than 70 patients affected by periodontitis.
