Automation Benefits Cuban Poultry Sector
Monday, March 11, 2019

Havana.- Cuba's westernmost province, Pinar del Rio, will have the first automated poultry nave in the country this year.

The installation processes will be directed by two operators from a control room, which will serve about 72,000 hens, with an annual production of 15.7 million eggs.

The eggs will be moved through a conveyor system to an adjoining collection center, where people will only intervene to place them in trays.

In addition, the lighting and temperature will be controlled by sensors, supported by a system that includes 25 air extractors and two cooling panels.

The new nave is 130 meters long by 12.45 wide and will have four cage lines of five floors each.
