Cuban Cyclist Stands Out in International Cycling Union
Monday, March 11, 2019

Havana.- Arlenis Sierra, one of Cuba's best cyclists, stands out due to her position in the world ranking of that sport.

Sierra climbed to the ninth position on the world route cycling ladder and is getting ready to compete in five stages of the 6th National Road Cycling Classic in Cuba.

On the list of the International Cycling Union (UCI), the Cuban athlete was in the 10th place, with 1,098 points, but the Katarzyna Niewiadoma, from Poland, fell three slots and she is now in the 11th place.

Ellen Van Dijk, from the Dutch team Trek-Segafredo, moved down one place and she is now in the 10th place, with 1,090.57 points.

Sierra won the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in January, after finishing in the third place in the Towards Zero Race and in the first stage of the Santos Women Tour, all in Australia.
